21 Jump Street, Funniest Movie Ever! Not even exaggerating!

As I was roaming around Canadian Music Week last Saturday I stumbled into the Paul Rodgers interview. This was not one the panels on my list of who I wanted to see but since all the other rooms were full I figured “what the heck?” I was first thrown off by the body guard outside the ballroom doors. Thinking to myself who could this possibly be? About 5 minutes into the interview I finally clued in that one of rock’s legends were on the stage in front of me.  How naïve?! I had no idea Rodgers was one of the so called “founders” of my favourite (and millions of other’s favourite) band of all time, Led Zeppelin. He told the story of hanging out with Robert Plant before Zeppelin existed, so I’m drooling at this point just from hearing Plant’s name. Plant said he had an audition for this upcoming band with some guy called Jimmy Page, and he had the choice of being paid 30 quid a week (British pounds) or take a percentage. Rodgers said “take the percentage”. And the rest is history. Of course he tells the story way better, but that is one story that will stay with me forever. Legend!
